The Chorus
The Blackstone Valley Community Chorus (BVCC) was formed in October, 2004 with 60 singers from towns throughout south central Massachusetts.
It performed its inaugural concert at St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge, MA, on the evening of November 28, 2004.
Since then, the BVCC has produced spring and fall concerts each year, blending classic and contemporary music of every style in a cappella and accompanied arrangements.
In addition to its major concerts, the BVCC sings at a variety of events, such as local Memorial Day and Independence Day celebrations, Holiday First Nights and harvest festivals.
The chorus also accepts invitations to sing for historical societies, women's clubs, community centers, and other local organizations.
The BVCC is a non-audition community chorus, attracting singers of all ages and all musical backgrounds.
Members are encouraged to explore many types of choral music and to continue to grow vocally.
Chamber Singers
The Blackstone Valley Chamber Singers are a smaller group of 16 voices selected from the general chorus membership. Their repertoire includes madrigals, chorals, ancient songs, and other interesting and challenging pieces suited to small groups. The Chamber Singers offer their repertoire of beautiful pieces, ready to sing at short notice and in a variety of venues. If you are interested in having the Chamber Singers perform at your event, please contact us via email.
Barbershop Quartets
The men's and a women's quartets perform traditional and non-traditional barbershop melodies with the tight harmonies for which they are known. The quartets have been honored with invitations to sing at special occasions and services around the Valley.
