The Blackstone Valley Community Chorus (BVCC) was formed in 2004 with sixty singers from five towns throughout the Blackstone Valley.  The BVCC attracts singers with diverse abilities and musical backgrounds, united by their love of music. Spring and fall concerts feature a variety of a cappella and accompanied performances.  Our singers enjoy a friendly and supportive environment where they are continually challenged and encouraged to grow, both as a group and as individual performers.

Diane Pollard, Conductor, minored in piano and voice at SUNY Plattsburg. She founded the BVCC in 2004, and has worked with the BVCC board of directors to create musical learning opportunities for singers who only need to be able to carry a tune. Over the past ten years, the group has explored many musical genres, including classical works, jazz, madrigals, show tunes, a cappella, gospel, pop and art songs in foreign languages.

Diane is also an active member of the Theater of Northeastern CT, acting as musical director and vocal coach at the Bradley Playhouse in Putnam. She continues to perform in musicals and straight plays. She currently works as a literacy specialist for the Newton Public Schools. She resides in Douglas with her husband Pat and enjoys spending time with her two adult children.
